Crann Luachra Our tree project
Here at Luachra we strive to grow trees as fast and as healthy as possible by restoring ancient fungal networks in our soils. We look to nature and ask; What grows and fertilises trees? Fungi do!
Fungi are associated with over 90% of plants and with all trees. So at Luachra we are planting trees with all the good fungi we grow here on site. We are not talking about growing mushrooms (fruiting bodies) but rather mycelium, the term to describe a network of fungi underground.
What do they do? These fungi we are talking about attach directly to the roots of a trees and deliver the tree whatever nutrients and water are required to grow, in exchange for some extra carbon the tree releases in its roots. They are able to break down nutrients from parent material like sand silt and clay with their powerful enzymes and then deliver it up through their carbon filled fungal highway to the tree on demand.
The trees can even communicate with each other and send nutrients to dying or sickly trees.

Tree Growth with Indigenous Microorganisms
We collect our cultures through the Indigenous microorganism process (IMO). We expand these ethically collected cultures into a final fungal product that is tailored to the soil of planting. This allows the trees to form their fungal associations early, meaning less loss faster growth and more carbon in the ground, as opposed to commercial planting, which plants trees in bacterially dominated ground where they grow slowly fighting to make the ground more fungal and many trees planted are lost.
Each tree planted will be soaked in a fungal liquid with natural fermented nutrients to bolster health and solid fungi will be planted at and around the roots, ensuring the best chance of success.
We are looking for environmentally aware companies and people to sponsor the planting of these trees.

Sponsoring our tree planting projects offers numerous compelling benefits:
Environmental Leadership:
Demonstrate your company's commitment to sustainable and responsible environmental practices.
Community Impact
Support initiatives that create local employment and engage communities in meaningful environmental activities.
Biodiversity Creation:
Play a role in preserving biodiversity and fostering resilient ecosystems.
Carbon Reduction:
Actively contribute to reducing atmospheric carbon levels through the planting of native trees and establishing long lasting mycelium networks.
Brand Enhancement:
Strengthen your brand's reputation by aligning with an eco-friendly and socially responsible initiative.
Long-Term Sustainability:
Invest in projects that ensure lasting positive impacts on the environment and future generations.

How To Sponsor A Tree
